Under-hyped Readathon TBR!

I am really excited about this readathon: it’s the first I’ve ever participated in and the idea of it is really cool! I plan on definitely completing two books (one of which I’ve already nearly finished) but hope to maybe get to three more. so, here they are:

the first two books are the ones I know I will complete (only have about 60 pages of left of Suicide Notes) which is great because they’ve been on my Goodreads to-read list for ages! the other three – well, Doubt I have as an ebook, which I usually fly through, and the Ray Mears one has a lot of photographs and not much text, so I’m quite confident that I’ll be able to get through at least one of them. but The Girl with All the Gifts is a fairly long book at 460 pages and I don’t know how long it’ll take me to finish Tales of the Madman Underground as that’s pretty chunky at 544 pages, so I’m not too sure if I’ll get round to The Girl… but who knows? I might have beginner’s luck!

What are your top three book pet peeves?

instalove; male characters (usually love interests) who are abusive, mean and just plain horrible but are “hot” and “charming” thus their behaviour is written as excusable or totally okay; stereotypical, one-dimensional characters.

Describe your perfect reading spot.

my bed. always and forever.

Tell us three book confessions.

I’ve never read the Harry Potter books and don’t really want to and the fact that I’ve only ever completed one series longer than a duology are the only ones I can think of.

When was the last time you cried during a book?

last month during the last fifty or so pages of Tell The Wolves I’m Home.

How many books are on your bedside table?

don’t have a bedside table, but three books are off my shelves and in this little basket thing. they’re either books I’m currently reading or will be reading soon.

Show us a picture of your favorite bookshelf on your bookcase.

… I don’t really have one. I think they all look quite nice.

Write how much books mean to you in just three words.

escapism through imagination.

What is your biggest reading secret?

nothing? none of my reading habits do I consider secrets. but I do go through phases where I prefer reading fanfiction to actual books.
